Marius lay beside the river, licking his violet paws. It had been awhile since he'd last seen Kaamier, his mate, but he waited anxiously by the river everyday when not required of some service by his Alphena or off hunting. He hoped to soon see the little merwolfs head bobbing about the surface to talk to him. He would often spot fish in the water and be reminded of her. His tail would wag as he watched it swim away and he hoped it meant she would be approaching soon. The lazy summer days tempted him to go for a swim with the drought of rain. But no, he refused to go in. He still wasn't a large fan of water.

The deep river seemed to carry a small purple wolf, with a seemingly buldging midsection. Paddling her long aquatic tail, the pregnant mer-wolf seemed to be... singing.
"Child of the wilderness, Born into emptiness, Learn to be lonely.... Learn to find your way in darkness, Who will be there for you, Comfort and care for you? Learn to be lonely, Learn to be your one companion..."
Her purple-blue eyes closed as she swam along the bottom in sheer bliss, dodging the many rocks using her heightened senses.
"Never dreamed out in the world There are arms to hold you You’ve always known your heart was on its own," almost immediatly, she thought of her mate. Oh how she missed him...
"So laugh in your loneliness Child of the wilderness Learn to Be lonely Learn how to love life that is lived alone..." she opened her lovely eyes and poked her head above the surface of the water. Beautiful weather, she thought. Diving back down, she finished her song.
"Learn to be lonely Life can be lived life can be loved alone." Again, Kaamier's thoughts drifted to Loki, her mate's brother. What an odd name for a male...

Marius leapt to his paws when he spotted the merwolf. Her singing was chilling, and he felt his fur rise on end. Feeling a spark of mischief, he trotted a bit upstream from where he'd seen Kaamier and then leapt into the steam. Popping above the surface he coughed a little. Okay, bad idea.
Blinking as he paddled a long he soon bumped into something. Taking a deep breath he pludged his head and peered dimly through the water to spot a form but couldn't distinguish whether it was Kaamier...or something else.
OOC: He doesn't have very good water eyes ;o

Spotting her mate looking down at her, Kaamier let out a soft cry of excitement before paddling her powerful tail. She tackled him, causing the two to fly out of the river and land on the shore with Kaamier unerneath planting 'kisses' all over his face.

Marius laughed cheerily, enjoying the merwolfs affections although slightly suprised to find himself on land again. He wagged his tail merrily, jumping off Kaamier. He nuzzled her, beaming happily. "Been missing you as well" he said wryly, his eyes twinkling.

Kaamier rolled her eyes and stood up, wanting to tell him something. "Two," she said promptly, knowing he wouldn't understand unless she explained further. "I went to see Arraiko, the goddess of Aphrodite's palace. She said that there will be two."

"Really?" Marius said, estatic at the idea. Two pups. Two little pups to care for. And surely, Loki would come to see his neices or nephews or even both! That crazy wolf probly want to play with them all day. Of course, though Marius didn't know it, Loki loved to swim so surely he could have fun with them all he pleased.

Kaamier nodded, pride in her eyes. "She also mentioned something about one being a male.," she stated happily, digging her poisonous claws into the ground. "The other is female I think."

"That's very good." he said. He smiled softly and then nuzzled Kaamier. He couldn't wait for them to be born. He knew that in most packs when pups were born they'd all pitch in to teach the pups, usually each stating gleefully what knowledge they'd give the pups. But since Kaamier wasn't part of the pack, he supposed it was thier job to give the children all the wisdom the posessed.

Almost sensing his thoughts, Kaamier sighed softly, nuzzling him back. "I'm thinking of joining the pack with you. Even though I already have a kingdom to look after, it's for the... uh... mer-pups." She said, using his term for them, a sly grin on her face.

Marius laughed at his previous, stumbling term for a merwolf's pup. "That's very good. I do hope that Loushon will allow. She didn't seem very pleased with your first encounter" he said, wagging his tail a little. "I'm sure she will though. Who could resist your charms?" He was joking around, of course.

Kaamier rolled her eyes once more. "Well, I wouldn't care if that's the case. I would still come to see you, preferrably during the night. The water's cooler, and I don't think you've ever seen me during the night..."

"No, I don't believe I have" he said, wagging his tail a little. He arched his neck and rested it on hers, pressing his chest against the smaller wolf into a sort of hug gesture for a wolf. Marius was a little clumsy at the whole thing, and simply wanted to express what fondness he had for Kaamier, despite her alternate personalitys.

"Well," she began, cuddling up to him. "I lose my hind legs and change into a siren. I won't drown you of course-- I've learned how to control my powers. And my tail looks significantly different."

"Nah, you wouldn't drown me anyways." he said. "I know that no matter what you become you'd love me too much to hurt me." He laughed a little once more. "But if you did try, you'd probly find me an easily job that most." He shook his heada little, refering to his horrible swimming skills.

"Well then, Mary, do you need swimming lessons?" Kaamier said teasingly, feeling a slight nudge in her midsection. She shook it off, knowing what it was already.

Marius scowled playfully. "No, I'm okay." he said. Indeed, he wouldn't tell her off for calling him that, although he would certainly snap Loki off in an instant if he dared to mock his brother so. They did love each other in the family way, but sibling rivalry was strong within them.

"You sure?" She asked, something glinting in her eyes. "You look like a flounder in the water. Maybe if you..." She pushed him into shallow water, laughing a little. "Maybe if you get wet you would feel better."

Marius snorted as he got pack to his paws, shaking himslef furiously to rid himself of water. "Really now. That's uncalled for, Kaamier" he said teasingly, flaunting back to the female. "Maybe you stick to the swimming and I'll stick to the hunting. You may think that those little fishies taste good, but once you catch a buck you'll experience true satisfaction, let me tell you!"
